The term ‘finished’ varies depending on the nature of the work: for the purposes of this blog post, these are pieces I consider to be resolved or satisfactory in a moment of time. In the case of paintings, this is a long, considered and highly tuned process particularly as they are sent off for shows or sold. By comparison, experimental drawings might be partially resolved, fragmented and ongoing but I would consider them finished in a snapshot of time, which may change as I reflect on them and develop my ideas further.
