Painting Paper and Making Decisions

It has been a hive of activity (pun intended) with the hexagonal, circular and square beeswax moulds and I feel I am starting to make some decisions about what’s working and what might look good for the final show. Considerations:

  1. Must be realistic - I need to make a lot of them

  2. Must be transportable

  3. I need to consider how to attach the paper works to the wall and in what format

  4. Think about what will be visually striking in the space - huge and cluttered with lots of visually diverse work

I really like the hexagons and they lend themselves to a formation that could work. I don’t feel the square ones add much and the round ones are really interesting and the closest to the fungal spores so I will continue with those two. The free form shapes and cabbage leaves are probably my favourite of all and I am wondering about a sort of scattered mycelium format of outward sprawling of indigo painted cabbage leaves. Bit random but I love that.
