GROTTO

Submissions for GROTTO are looming and I am deep in the Compost Drawings so I am going to submit one for the print sale. I am starting to make holes in the drawings as a first attempt to emboss or penetrate the surface in terms of in-front and behind as part of the work. I would love them to look like fairy lights and make progress towards light in my work and understanding my fascination with cheesy fairy lights…

I am pleased with the final piece, titled ‘Future/Tense’, although I look forward to progressing the idea of lights as part of the pieces. I would like them to feel more vital, to move and participate with their surroundings. For now though, glad to have another deadline checked off the list and feeling happy to be taking part.
