MA Work | Paper as Medium

Below are all the blog posts relating to paper over the past two years. I have been investigating paper as a medium rather than a substrate, with a view to delving deeper into my understanding of book wisdom, use of natural resources and the interconnectivity of natural systems through paper, as one of our oldest forms of knowledge dissemination. Encapsulated in the paper itself is natural resource exploitation, rather than the paper containing the wisdom, the natural systems, the answers.

The paper making and casting has been slow as I was a complete beginner when the project started to form in my mind in Year One. I have taught myself how to make and cast paper from my compost heap as well as make paper from other recycled pulp and the climate, space issues and lack of knowledge and time has made it a bit frustrating. I sort of love it though, so I am gathering all my ideas here in one place so I can focus ideas for the Final Show this summer.
