Morels and Morals

My focus is fungi and specifically Angel Wings at the moment. I treated myself to this beautiful book ‘Fungi: Discover the Science and Secrets Behind the World of Mushrooms’ and it is a beautifully illustrated, fact-based mirror of all the thoughts and images I have in my mind. The visual inspiration is obvious and there is even a recipe for mushroom paper. I am attending a lecture by Fred the Forager in Avebury on 5th September and I hope to learn more about foraging for mushrooms locally.

In the meantime I am nurturing my ideas around the ethics of art making in climate chaos, the networks and tendrils that connect us with our ancient selves and hoping my inner womancub awakens with a low primordial roar, with mud under my fingernails and clutching a petrichoric cluster of mycelium and hope.
