Mairin Hartt and Johanna Love Drawing Artists

I have been watching this artist for some time and I love the scientific slant to her work - they’re often cells or microscopic particles. It reminded me of Johanna Love’s work from today’s session so I am putting them here together to remind myself.

Mairin Hartt

Johanna Love

I enjoyed listening to Jo talking today and we have much in common - being sort of German, Hamburg, drawing, finding art as self therapy tedious. She has a sensitivity in her work that I liked, particularly the dust work and the stuff on bones was fabulous. I was a bit envious that I didn’t get to the bone particles first… If I am completely honest I loved the ideas in her work more than the work itself but that’s good for me as there’s lots of potential for finding my own way with the idea of particles and bones in the ground.
