Drawing Intensive for Beginners Part 2 | 3 hours Saturday 2nd March 10am - 1pm UK time
This class is a relaxed, supportive class for anyone who has an interest in drawing but not really much experience with materials, subject matter and inspiration. We will be a small group on Zoom where we will divide our 3 hours between lessons and drawing with additional learning support such as a worksheet and summaries so you can just relax and listen without having to scribble down pages of notes. The class will also be recorded for you to watch within 30 days.
I will not be showing you to draw ‘correctly’ like an old fashioned school teacher but rather introduce you to the idea that drawing is joyful and we can all do it with a little information and practice. I will encourage you to listen to yourself and draw what interests you in a way that feels good to you.
I will provide images for us to draw from and they will include some landscapes, still life objects and a few more imagination orientated prompts. We will do some shorter, warm up exercises and some longer, more focussed drawings. These will all be guided and you will have loads of opportunity to ask questions.
You do not need to do Parts I and 2, you can do both or just choose the part that interests you.
Materials list:
You do not need to buy anything specific for this course but I would recommend you have some drawing paper (140gsm or heavier) or a sketchbook as well as some drawing materials such as pencils, rubber, sharpener, charcoal, pastels, ink or any other drawing tools you have already or would like to experiment with. This class will give you lots of inspiration so you can decide afterwards which materials you would like to buy rather than waste money on materials you don’t really want to use.
