I Draw a Line from Me to You
I went to the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize show and the Drawing Symposium next door, titled ‘I Draw a Line from Me to You’ on 3rd October. The talks were outstanding and extremely relevant to my research into drawing and kinship, particularly the discussions by Chloe Briggs and Tania Kovats. I feel increasingly since meeting with Professor Goodwin that there is a world out there where my ideas make sense and can be developed. I was struck by how gentle the speakers were, just nice people talking about interesting things. I may revisit the idea of a doctorate after all…
I wrote pages and pages of notes, not so much about the speakers but around the ideas it was generating. So much discussion around drawing, what it is and how it is more relevant than ever.
Some of my notes below as a record.
